Taking the Vancouver Blogger Challenge
Jonathon Narvey has thrown down the Google gauntlet. He ranks in the Top Five for the search term "Vancouver Blogger."
Okay, Jonny Boy. Game on!
Right now my blog has slipped onto the first page of Google results. It feels so close. Duane Story and stories of his exotic life have locked up #1. Miss604 is up there, and of course Sir Barefoot, Lord of all Vancouver Bloggers is on page one.
A "North" Vancouver blogger is there. Should that count? Oh, Google, how you like to tease us with your word combinations.
It's nothing personal, Duane, but I'm gunning for your top spot (for at least a while). For pure reasons of vanity, my goal is to be #1 for the search phrase Vancouver Blogger by the open of the Northern Voice conference (which I'm attending, and you should to) in less than 4 weeks.
I know you're asking yourself, How can I help push Mike up to the top? Here's how…copy and paste this link into your blog:

What could be better than to breathe the rarefied air of the Darrens and the Duanes of the Vancouver blogging scene?

Being #1 for “vancouver blog” is good enough for me. On a bad day I may be #3 but at least I’m still the only non-group blog up there.

It’s a Google-off!!
Ladies and gentlemen, start your googlebots. The Vancouver Blogger Smackdown has begun. Duane Story’s comment is his formal declaration to rumble the rss feeds. There are 25 days until the start of Northern Voice. To save face I must…

I accept your challenge. I shall reclaim my throne. Long live the Empire! (Insert your favourite Palpatine laugh here.)

I wish you the best of luck in taking top spot in the Vancouver Blogger Challenge, Michael. But I’ve had my day in the sun. In the words of modern philosopher Jerry Seinfeld, I CHOOSE NOT TO RUN!
Cheers!

How much work and time are you going to put into this? I hope it’s worth it to you in the end…

My wife is asking the same thing. Hopefully Google does most of the work for me…

Just tell her it will bring riches, fame, and, ummm, free shopping trip to her favourite store? 🙂
